"
A Java Professional

The Java Professional is a generic identification for a Java developer involved in the Java software development environment for a period of more than two years. He is not recognized by the general public as a true professional until he is awarded one of the Chartered Java statuses by the Chamber of Chartered Java Professionals International. In general, Java developers are called Java professionals when they gain few years of industry experience in the field of Java technology. Another form of Java professional can be seen in the development environment who bears trade certifications in Java Programming. The complete business solution is an integration of many relevant technologies. Ability and skill to calculate load and concurrency for the purpose of selection of the most suitable technologies to develop a complete business solution are strongly considered while awarding the Chartered status for a developer in any Chartered category.
",

"
The Hierarchy of Chartered Java Status

Chartered Java statuses are hierarchically arranged. Someone may obtain the highest status of the Charter (Certified Chartered Java Professional - CCh.JP) in eight years of their involvement in the industry. That may reduce maximum up to 5 years according to the achievement during the practice.

Chartered Java Business Solution Developer - Ch.J.BSD

Chartered Java Ecommerce Solution Developer - Ch.J.ESD

Chartered Java Integrated Business Solution Developer - Ch.J.IBSD

Chartered Java Mobile Solution Developer - Ch.J.MobSD

Chartered Java Micro Solution Developer for Industry Automation Ch.J.MicSD

Chartered Java Robotic Solution Developer - Ch.J.RobSD

Chartered Java System Architect - Ch.J.SA

Certified Chartered Java Professional - CCh.JP

",

"
Path to Get the Chartered Java Status

A prospect who is interested in Java technology can earn Chartered Status completing following three major components.

Skill in Java Software Development

Theoretical Knowledge in Java Programming Language

Experience in working as a Java Developer or being an entrepreneur owning a Java based software development business entity for minimum of 2 years

	",

"
Professional skills

Professional skills are in two categories:

Formally Developed Skill

Formally Developed Skill can be gained by a carefully structured professional skill development training program. The training program should be recognized by the professional organization or professional body relevant to the field. The skill and knowhow of the field is to be acquired at the end of the training program and that should be evaluated according to the guidelines provided by the professional body.

Informally Gained Skills

Informally Gained Skills are gained by the involvement in the relevant field for long time supporting to a qualified professional, working under him or working in a related organization as a general employee. The skill is transferred to him in an ad hoc manner without a formal and sequential learning process. But the long time involvement in the same field may lead him to succeed with the skill evaluation process of the governing authority, due to his experience.
",

"
Theoretical Knowledge

Theoretical knowledge can be academic or professional. The academic theoretical knowledge can be gained from a traditional college, high school or from a university. The disadvantage in acquiring the knowledge requirement for a particular profession from an academic institute or organization is that they have to learn all other subjects as well, irrelevant to what the subject is, which may take a longer period to study. Today in the modern world, professional academic knowledge development courses are formulated by even traditional universities focusing only a single subject.

Today in the field of information technology the professional theoretical knowledge acquiring component is very precise because that is based on trade certifications and clearly relevant with professional theoretical certifications offered by professional organizations. Content of the trade certifications cover and are completely limited only to the subject area required for theoretical knowledge development of the professional field. In the field of information technology, candidates who expect to acquire theoretical knowledge need not waste their time learning irrelevant subjects matter.
",

"
Professional experience

Professional experience is mainly of two types,

Pre qualification Experience
The experience gained before the qualification is acquired. The experience is gained on a trial and error basis. Experience is not based on the formal theoretical knowledge and skill. Therefore even for a person having long term experience, the experience gaining process is not sequential and at the same time he gains the experience in an ad hoc manner. The major disadvantage of gaining pre qualification experience is that during the period he gets experience which needs to involve in all other irrelevant areas as he is not having specific skill and theoretical knowledge in a single area. Therefore pre qualification experience gaining process is a heavy time consuming process. Due to all above reasons pre-qualification experience is not that recognized in the field or industry.

Post Qualification Experience
Experience gained after the professional qualification. The trainee professional is allocated only to a completely relevant field. Experience gained is completely theory, knowledge and skill based. Therefore there is less provision to go wrong. With the short period of experience they may adopt to the professional behavior and professional practice.

",
